Northern Inland’s emerging footballers to be recognised at upcoming awards ceremony

Former Socceroo Adrian Alston will this Friday join Emerging ‘Matildas’ Goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln in recognising and celebrating the Northern Inland’s emerging footballers at the NIAS FC Academy Awards in Tamworth.

On Friday (September 22nd) at 6pm, around 200 footballers, coaches, sponsors, parents and NIAS team members will converge at the Wests Tamworth League Club, tocelebrate the NIAS FC athlete achievements of 2022/23, as well as recognise the support of coaches, sponsors and partners.

NIAS CEO Shona Eichorn said it will be an honour to celebrate the impressive accomplishments, sportsmanship and dedication of the NIAS FC footballers as their season soon comes to close.

“It has been a huge season for our 2022/23 NIAS athletes, filled with grit, dedication and a brilliant display of comradery. We are very much looking forward to celebrating these remarkable young footballers, as well as acknowledging the support of our coaches, sponsors and partners.

“Joining us at the event will be former Socceroo Adrian ‘Noddy’ Alston who boasts an illustrious football career with lots of football experiences to share.

“We’ll also be playing a special video message recorded by emerging ‘Matildas’ goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln who hails from Armidale. Chloe, due to being selected in the U23 Women’s National Team and will be travelling to Italy, is now unable to attend the event but has recorded an inspirational message for local athletes.

“The entire NIAS team, including our NIAS Technical Director Martin Rae who himself is a former international professional footballer player and coach, is very much looking forward to a wonderful night of celebrations,” Mrs Eichorn said.

NIAS is a community-based organisation dedicated to identifying and nurturing talented sportspeople in the New England North West region to develop their potential…  on and off the field.
