The Northern Inland Academy of Sport Golf Program operates in partnership with Jack Newton Junior Golf (JNJG) to support the development of pre-elite junior golfers in a local setting.

JNJG provides a golf curriculum and skill modules to support the NIAS Golf Program. The modules cover skill components, core skill testing procedures, drills and reporting protocols for all scholarship athletes.

The aim of the NIAS Golf Program is to provide aspiring young male and female golfers with genuine opportunities and support to up-skill across all areas of the sport, gain educational and personal development both on and off the course, and to enhance their prospects of progressing further in the development pathway.

This program is supported and endorsed by both JNJG and Golf NSW. Athletes wishing to advance on the Golf NSW High Performance athlete Pathway, are strongly encouraged to attend this program, the NIAS Golf program will be seen as a critical step in the Golf NSW pathway.

  • Regular training sessions by local elite coaches October 2025 – July 2026
  • Skill development
  • Inter-Academy Development camps
  • Strength and conditioning/Injury prevention screenings and programs
  • Sports science fitness testing
  • Educational seminars
  • Opportunities to compete in elite events such as the Your Local Club Academy Games
  • Participation in JNJG Junior Masters Events
  • The opportunity to be selected in the North versus South Challenge

To be eligible for selection in the 2026 program, athletes must:

  • be turning 12-17 years of age in 2026
  • be living or attending school in the NIAS Catchment Area
  • be a registered member of Golf NSW and a member of a local club
  • submit a nomination form before the closing date

  • Potential to improve
  • Competitive ability
  • Individual application
  • Performance and results at specific events
  • Coachability and behaviour
